Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine may open a window. Therapy and integration can help shape what becomes possible through that window.

Ketamine-assisted therapy combines the biological effects of ketamine with the support of psychotherapy.

Ketamine may reduce depressive symptoms and is being studied for anxiety and substance cravings. It works through an alternative neuro-chemical signaling pathway different from traditional psychiatric medications. It may increase neuroplasticity and reduce rigid patterns of thought and mood, which can help facilitate psychotherapy progress.

My approach includes careful psychiatric evaluation, preparation, medically supervised ketamine sessions, and integration afterward. Ketamine is not a cure-all and is not appropriate for everyone, but for selected patients it can be a powerful tool for both symptom relief and deeper therapeutic work — particularly those living with treatment-resistant depression.

Ketamine may also create a temporary shift in ordinary consciousness and a change in perspective. Held within a compassionate therapeutic relationship, that opening can become genuinely transformative.

Ketamine is not a cure, and treatment outcomes vary between individuals. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is most effective when integrated into a broader treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, medication management, and ongoing support.

How We Offer It

Two Routes, One Framework

The route and the frequency are chosen with you, based on your medical history, goals, and comfort. Both are delivered within the same prepared, supported structure.

Route One

Sublingual Lozenges

A gentler, gradual onset taken under the tongue. Often a comfortable starting point, well-suited to building familiarity with the work.

Route Two

Intramuscular (IM) Injection

A more reliable, deeper experience delivered by injection in the clinic, with close monitoring throughout.

Every session — whichever route — is held within preparation, presence, and integration.

The Architecture of the Work

Set, Setting & Integration

The medicine is never the full story.

SetThe inner landscape

Intention, history, and readiness. Before any medicine, we prepare. We clarify what you're moving toward and what you're carrying, so that whatever arises has a context to land in.

SettingWhere it happens

Healing unfolds within a relationship and an environment. The physical, emotional, and relational setting can profoundly shape the experience. We strive to create a space that is safe, attentive, and supportive, allowing you to engage the work with greater openness and trust.

IntegrationThe practice of change

Insight alone is rarely enough. Lasting change develops through reflection, application, and continued support. In the days and weeks following a session, we work together to translate insights into understanding, and understanding into meaningful change in daily life. When appropriate, we collaborate closely with your therapist to support a more streamlined integration process.

Shared preparation and integration within a small, carefully held group — drawing on the particular healing that comes from not being alone in the work.

Safety First

Careful, Medical, Individualized

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy begins with a comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation to determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. Ketamine is prescribed and administered under the supervision of a physician, with careful attention to safety, preparation, and ongoing monitoring throughout the treatment process.

Like any medical treatment, ketamine carries potential risks and is not appropriate for everyone. Responsible care includes thoughtfully assessing both the potential benefits and limitations of treatment, and recommending alternative approaches when they are more appropriate.
